Meet Our Mentors: The Heart of NextGen
Behind every great rider is a mentor who leads with knowledge, passion, and purpose. Our coaches bring years of rodeo experience—from bull riding and judging to stock contracting and cowboy protection. They’re here to train, guide, and inspire the next generation of athletes while passing on the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and grit.

Cody Ransom
Bull Riding Mentor & Stock Contractor
Cody was raised in Colorado and began riding sheep and steers at a young age. After a break from riding, Cody returned to the sport at 25, competing in bull riding while serving in the Army. Over the years, Cody has competed in IPRA, SEBRA, and various events across Michigan, Colorado, Tennessee, Kentucky, Alabama, Mississippi, Ohio, and Missouri. Now based in Michigan, Cody continues to ride locally, work with horses, and raise youth bucking bulls to help coach and mentor the next generation of bull riders. Becoming part of Next Generation Bull Riders has been a meaningful journey for Cody and his family, and they take great pride in being involved in the future of the sport they love.
Meet Our Volunteers: The Blood of NextGen
NextGen runs on the heart and hustle of our volunteers. These dedicated individuals step in wherever needed—setting up arenas, managing events, supporting families, and cheering on every rider. Their commitment keeps the spirit of our program alive, creating the foundation for a strong, supportive rodeo community.

Jen Goss
Sponsorships & Team Apparel
I was born and raised in Michigan, and while I didn’t grow up with a background in rodeo, I’ve been learning and growing every day since becoming part of the Next Generation Bull Riding family. I first met Denny and Amy two years ago at a MYTRA event and began helping NGBR by seeking out sponsors to support the program. What started as a volunteer effort quickly turned into a friendship and a deeper connection when my son began riding with the team.
As he became more involved, so did I—supporting the day-to-day operations by setting up booths, helping organize schools, and serving as a contact for families looking for event information. Becoming a part of NextGen has been an incredible journey. Watching these kids grow, gain confidence, and develop life skills through this sport is truly the most rewarding part of it all.

Jody Nova
Youth Development & Tech Support
My passion for youth development has guided both my personal and professional paths—from time in the saddle to a career building educational programs in the EdTech and after-school space. With years of experience developing impactful, scalable youth initiatives, I bring that same drive and strategic vision to my role with Next Generation Bull Riding. As the behind-the-scenes business advisor, I’m focused on helping build a sustainable, nationwide organization that not only celebrates the sport of bull riding but also equips the next generation with the life skills, mentorship, and opportunities they need to thrive. For me, NextGen is more than a rodeo; it’s a movement to empower kids, honor tradition, and create lasting change. I’m proud to be part of something that’s shaping futures, both in and beyond the arena.
